The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to review the “...ey” sound in words like “key” and “money." Remind your child that this is just one sound that “-ey” can make.
You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey is an actress, writer, and talk show host.
Oprah was born to a single mother. Her first house had no bathroom or running water.
But Oprah could read by the age of three. At church, she would get up to speak, and that made her be more confident.
Today Oprah Winfrey is one of the richest people in the world. She had her own TV show for twenty-five years, wrote a magazine, and won tons of awards.
And she did it all herself, thanks to lots of hard work!
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
Who was today's story about?
What is Oprah Winfrey famous for?
