The Trade Game

In class last week, we got to play The Trade Game.

You get to trade, or barter, with other players to get things you need or want. There are no coins or money.

Every player got three sheets of paper. They had to pretend to make things by drawing on the paper.

I had to draw three things that are made of wood. I “made” a wooden wheel, a desk, and a small toy.

My pal Sally got lemons, which she remade into lemonade.

Playing The Trade Game was fun, and I got a good grade on it.

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What happened in the story?

  2. In the story, what does the word "barter" mean?
