Daily(ish) Decodable: Tooth Fairy Day

The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.

Today we're going to review the “ee” sound.

You can review all of the prior lessons here

Tooth Fairy Day

Today is Tooth Fairy Day!

Kids start to get their first teeth around six months old. When those peek out, that can be painful!

Those “baby” teeth normally fall out between the ages of six and thirteen. After the baby teeth fall out, kids get new, adult teeth.

Dentists love this holiday. They can use it to remind kids to brush and floss daily.

Have you ever seen The Tooth Fairy? She sometimes brings treats to kids while they sleep. She's sneaky, and always on the hunt for lost teeth!

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What day is it today?

  2. When do kids lose their baby teeth?
