That Hurt
I put on my skates.
I go onto the rink and begin to skate fast.
I can feel the wind on my skin.
But when I turn, I make a mistake. I trip and fall and hurt my leg.
I don’t want to cry, but my leg burns. I need help.
My sister Kate takes my hand and pulls me to my feet.
With her help, we go back to that tricky turn. We take it slow, and we do it together. I am back on track! ------------------------------- Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What happened in the story?
Who helps the author get back on their feet?
