The Little Teapot
I know I am just a little teapot. I am the smallest in my family.
My uncle teases me and says I am short and stout.
This is my handle. You hold it to pick me up and pour out the tea.
This is my spout. It is where the tea comes out. Don't pour too fast, or I may spill a big load.
Sometimes, when I get very angry and hot, you may hear me shout.
But then, just pick up my handle, tip me over, and pour the tea out!
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
Can you describe the teapot in the story?
In the story, who calls the teapot "short and stout?"
