The Yellow School Bus

I take a yellow bus to school. It picks me up at nine o'clock sharp.

The bus driver, Dale, always greets me with a big smile. He tells us kids to, “Hop aboard!”

But yesterday, the bus was late. I was confused. I scratched my head, and peered around the corner, and waited to hear the sound of the bus.

At 9:03 I heard a faint roar. It was the bus! The kids and parents all cheered.

When Dale arrived, he told us he was sorry. He would make sure we made it to school on time.

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What happened in the story?

  2. How many minutes late was Dale the bus driver?
