Read It

Have your child read the passage below:

Some Sister Time

“Ouch! That hurt!” I yell at my big sister.

“Shh, don't scream out so loud,” she whispers back.

“But why did you hit me so hard?” I ask.

“Oh, it wasn't that bad. Don't pout about it. Now scooch over.”

I let her sit next to me on the couch and say, “Okay, I'll stop moaning, but you have to watch what I want to watch.”

“Okay, what are we watching?” she asks. “I would be glad to join you.”

My sister can be mean sometimes, but it can also be sweet to hang out together.

-------------------------------

Explain It

Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. What is this story about? Where do you think it takes place (what room in the house)?

  2. Who gets to pick what the sisters watch?
