We hang a net.

The ball is small.

My racket is red.

He wins a lot.

But not today, I tell myself.

He hits the ball to me,

it zings over the net,

but I hit it back.

We keep hitting,

until I smash a fast one.

He gets to it,

and hits it back over the net,

but it’s too long.

So… I win! ------------------------------- Explain It Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:

  1. Can you describe how ping pong is played?

  2. What happens in this ping pong game?
