The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to review the “-ft” sound in words like “gift” or “soft."
You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Make A Gift Day
Today is Make A Gift Day.
It's a day to try to make a gift for a person you love. It's kind of a neat way to say thanks.
Your mission is to make something from things in your house, without needing to buy anything new. You could:
draw or make a craft,
bake an edible treat,
invent a game to play, or
make a decoration to make your house look pretty.
It may not be as fancy or as nice as something from a store, but people like things that are handmade. Give it a try!
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
Without looking, can you spell the word "craft?"
What are some examples of homemade gifts in the story? Can you think of others?
