The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to do more practice with Magic E words.
You can review all of the prior lessons here.
Rhyme It
Parents, read the following words out loud. Then ask your child which one does NOT rhyme with the others?

-------------------------------
Say It
Have your child point to and blend the word "liked" three times (make sure they don't add an extra "ed" sound at the end):

Read It
Rosa Parks was born on this day in 1913. In honor of Ms. Parks, have your child read the passage below out loud.
Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks was a brave woman.
One day, after a long day at work, Parks got on a bus to take her home. The bus was divided into spaces for White people and Black people. White people got to sit in the front, and Black people had to sit in the back.
Parks was Black. And when the driver told her she had to get up and go to the back of the bus, Parks refused. Parks was arrested and put in jail.
Black people were tired of being treated this way. They refused to use the bus again until the rules were revised. It took over a year, but at long last they won the case. And it all started with Rosa Parks.
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What did Rosa Parks do?
Why did Rosa Parks do what she did?
