The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to review the “-nch" sound in words like “lunch” and “ranch.”
You can review all of the prior lessons here.

Pack Your Lunch Day
Today is Pack Your Lunch Day.
What do you like to eat for lunch? Do you eat the hot lunch at school, or do you normally bring it from home?
These days, I pack my own lunch. I often pack a sandwich, a banana, and a bunch of carrots.
But I love it when my dad packs my lunch. He puts extra crunchy peanut butter in my sandwich, and sometimes he packs me a treat. He also gives me some extra chips for snack.
-------------------------------
Explain It
Now have your child answer a couple questions about the story:
What does the author like to eat for lunch?
Why does the author like it when their dad packs their lunch?
