Daily(ish) Decodable: Ferret Day

The Daily(ish) Decodable program uses a standard format to work through one sound per day. There are simple instructions for you, the parent or caregiver, and any words in big bold letters are meant for your child to read out loud.
Today we're going to practice two-syllable words that end in "et."

Today is Ferret Day! Here are eight weird facts about ferrets:
A ferret is a furry animal with sharp teeth.
Ferrets are part of the weasel family.
Ferrets sleep up to eighteen hours per day.
Ferrets can live up to ten years.
Ferret babies are called “kits.”
Farmers used ferrets to kill vermin, pests, and rodents. The cunning ferret can sniff out pests and get them out from their hiding places.
The word “ferret” means “little thief,” which describes the animal's knack for digging or “ferreting” things out.
A family or group of ferrets is called a “business.”
